E.3  PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT USE OF FUNDS


Policy:

The Red River Valley School Division Board of Trustees values and supports/recognizes the importance of Professional Development of its staff.

Protocol:

The Professional Development funds may be used for In-servicing Training.  

The Red River Valley School Division will support the purchase of professional readings or items ordered in the name of the school or Division.

The Red River Valley School Division will not financially reimburse teachers for graduate or post graduate courses that could result in an increase in the classification.

A teacher currently on permanent contract as a Clinician with the School Division, may be reimbursed for courses leading to the procurement of a Clinician’s certificate.

Procedure:

All requisitions, purchase orders, and other expenses for Professional Development must be approved by the Principal of the school or Department manager and forwarded with original receipts to the Administration Office for approval.
