H.9 INTERVIEW COMMITTEES
Policy:
The RRVSD believes in being an equal opportunity employer and will openly communicate all employment vacancies within the division. The hiring authority will rest with the Superintendent & CEO provided that all hirings remain within the schools’ or departments’ budget.
Any staffing that exceeds the budget allotment must be brought to the board for pre-approval.
Protocol:
The following individuals will be on the interviewing committee:

Operations Supervisor CEO, Assistant Superintendent, 3 Trustees
Student Services Coordinator CEO, Assistant Superintendent, 1 Trustee, 2 Administrators (designated by CEO)
Principals** CEO, Assistant Superintendent, Local Trustee*, 1 additional Trustee
Vice-Principal CEO, Assistant Superintendent, Local Trustee*, 1 additional Trustee, 1 Principal (of school with vacancy)
* All efforts will be made to have the Local Trustee on the Interview Committee. In the event that the local ward is vacant, or the Local Trustee is unavailable, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees shall sit on the Interview Committee in place of the “Local Trustee”.
** For the hiring of a Hutterite School Teacher/Principal, the Interview Committee will also include one (1) representative from the Hutterite Colony.
Procedure:
The Superintendent & CEO will set up all other interview committees using the Human Resources Manual and following all applicable legislation.
