1.14 SAFE SCHOOLS
Policy:
In an effort to support and provide a safe and positive learning environment for everyone within The Red River Valley School Division, the Board of Trustees requires that all threat related behaviour be addressed. The Division’s focus will be on preventative, proactive measures to teach appropriate behaviour. It is recognized that, on occasion, it will be necessary to address inappropriate behaviour through disciplinary actions. These actions will be consistent with the level of behaviour to be addressed. A threat assessment protocol has been developed by the division to provide procedures in dealing with high-risk behaviour and each school will have a code of conduct and emergency response plan in place in order to provide direction.
Procedure:
See Attached Threat Assessment Protocol and also Policy #I.11 Emergency Preparedness.
